This Wall Street tech bull says he expects SpaceX and Tesla to merge in 2027
SpaceX's historic IPO is dominating headlines, but some on Wall Street say there could be another major change ahead for one of Elon Musk's other companies. After its public debut in what's expected to be the largest IPO ever, SpaceX could merge with Tesla in 2027, Wedbush Securities' Dan Ives said. A SpaceX-Tesla merger would mark further consolidation of the companies run by Elon Musk, the world's richest person. "We continue to believe that SpaceX and Tesla will eventually merge into one company in 2027 with the groundwork already in place for both operations to become one organization," Ives wrote in a note following the public release of SpaceX's IPO filing. The SpaceX-Tesla overlap Tesla breaks ground at the construction site for a joint Terafab with SpaceX and xAI. Tesla Ives said that he expects the merger because of how interconnected the two companies already are.
