SpaceX targets Friday morning for Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral
SpaceX may add a rush hour show to Friday morning, as the company has plans to launch its next rocket from Florida . The liftoff is set for no earlier than 8:27 a.m. Friday, June 12 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. If needed, SpaceX has until 12:27 p.m. to make the launch window. The mission, known as Starlink 10-54, will deliver 29 of the company's Starlink satellites to orbit. The Falcon 9 rocket will travel on a northeast trajectory after liftoff. Already into the month of June, this flight will mark Florida's 40th launch of the year. That is well behind last year’s record-setting pace of 109 launches. The decrease in launches is partially due to SpaceX operating from one Falcon 9 launch pad, as Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center is seeing finalization of a Starship pad on the site. It remains unknown when SpaceX's massive Starship will first launch from Florida. No Brevard sonic booms are expected Friday, as the rocket’s first stage booster will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
